2019年，我国污染防治攻坚战取得关键进展，主要污染物排放持续下降。2019年前11个月，全国337个地级及以上城市PM2.5浓度为34微克/立方米，同比下降2.9%。

In 2019, China has made significant progress in fighting pollution. Emissions of major pollutants continued to decline last year, and the PM2.5 density in 337 prefecture-level cities shrank 2.9 percent year on year at 34 micrograms per cubic meter in the first 11 months last year, according to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

国务院2018年印发的《打赢蓝天保卫战三年行动计划》提出，到2020年，二氧化硫、氮氧化物排放总量分别比2015年下降15%以上；PM2.5未达标地级及以上城市浓度比2015年下降18%以上，地级及以上城市空气质量优良天数比率达到80%，重度及以上污染天数比率比2015年下降25%以上；提前完成“十三五”目标任务的省份，要保持和巩固改善成果；尚未完成的，要确保全面实现“十三五”约束性目标；北京市环境空气质量改善目标应在“十三五”目标基础上进一步提高。
